'language as a moral medium' is a meditation on the tool that is language. language as something that we do. everytime we speak, read, listen, write, we do so from a complex, positionality, imbued with our sensibilities, our intentions, our morality whether we are aware of it or not.
whilst presenting a selection of nine unique, conceptual, haptic, kinetic books that delve deep into the possibilities of what book can be, what being book can mean, and what can be said when language is freed from the binds of convention, the exhibition marked the soft launch of my latest release, after which the exhibit is named.
‘language as a moral medium’ is the least conceptual book i have created in a long while. it is, however, a book very much filled with concepts. it is a collection of essays, deep dives and spoken word scripts, all of which take a critical look at language and its relationship with positionality within the violently hierarchical systems and structures within which we live.
