i was broke and i was broken, it was winter and i was recovering from an abusive relationship. scale and space were as malleable as my reality - shot on a 6x6 cheap chinese twin lens seagull and using a diana f flash on all subjects using the cheapest foma film and rodinal developer, i scanned the negatives and printed working prints with a cheap bubble jet printer. at some point over the weeks i carried the prints around, discussing selection and order with friends, the wear and tear of carrying them became part of their presence. i took high resolution flatbed scans of the prints resulting in an image that has all the hall marks of medium format high resolution from a distance and yet as one gets closer, the less detail and form is rendered by the single dots of the bubblejet printer overlaid with high detail creases, tears and dirt.
the closer you get, the less it makes sense.
